Nelson Ferreira, Manager Hanson Permanente Cement, contributed mining experience from Canada as well as the U.S. His plan for 2007 is to train his Production staff in the Law and give Production responsibility and accountability for citations and injuries. This approach has returned more positive results than any $afepro has encountered during 30 years in the Industry.

Joe Lumbart, Miners' Rep., Nelson Ferreira, Manager, Tom Jackson, Plant Manager, and Mike Marchetti, N. CA Safety Officer, are all  very attentive to the briefing on Special Investigation.

Solving problems during MSHA inspections is an "All Hands" responsibility in the California Region. Derek Burger, Tim Beerer, and Bill Ittes, are a team in the San Diego Seminar. They are in an exercise where an actual citation is  examined for legitimacy and recommendations are made for the site's Closing Conference plan.

One of the highlights in both Seminars was the presentation by Paul Belanger of Premier Safety Consulting. Paul is a retired MSHA Special Investigator Supervisor and SGT/Major (R) Iraq War Veteran.

His experience as a former Miner, MSHA inspector and Special Investigator made his information invaluable to the Hanson Professionals.
